Highlights of Kyiv Sightseeing Tour

We visited Kiev as an extended family and booked this tour by phone after searching for different options. The customer service was excellent, quick reply to an initial email enquiry, everything explained, prices quoted and sent by email shortly, were given advice on accommodation, restaurants, suitable activities offered. Very flexible and accommodating, followed by farther emails to confirm details. In addition, very punctual and professional. After that, when the actual tour started, we couldn’t praise our guide highly enough. Incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, spoke perfect English, answered all questions about history and modern politics, geography, etc. The best money we spent while in Kiev. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Pünktlich wurden wir an unserer Unterkunft mit einem sauberen Kleinbus abgeholt und haben uns erst auf eine Stadtrundfahrt begeben und danach auf einen Rundgang durch das große Gelände der Höhlenklöster und vieles mehr. Man bekommt alle Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt zu sehen und unser Guide Ludmila sprach ein perfektes Deutsch und hatte großes Wissen, welches Sie uns anschaulich und interessant vermittelte.

Kiev Walking tour…
This trip I booked on very short notice (calling at 0700, having tour at 1000 same day) was one of the highlights of my visit to Kiev! As an American married to a Ukrainian woman, I have been to Kiev numerous times. But never have I seen the city like I saw it today with my English speaking guide Helena. We had amazing conversations about the history of the city, and her knowledge of the different areas we visited was top notch! Any
guide can take you to see one of the amazing sites in Kiev, but to have the background behind the murals, the paintings, the structures, the people and to put it all into context makes the journey much more rich and memorable. My tour was one I will happily tell my wife, children and family about for a long time to come!
May be the best money I spent in Kiev!

Loved our Highlights of Kiev tour
Natalia was our guide and Alex our driver. They were fab! A+ Natalia is local and was raised during communism so we loved that she had first hand experience as a Ukrainian. This was 6 hours, perfect length because you stop absorbing info at the end. It was setup properly with riding around first with intermittent drop offs for quick chat then onto the major destination to get out and tour. LOVED IT. My brother who lives here approved, he felt he even learned a lot.

We booked a private “Highlights of Kiev” sightseeing tour for 6 hours including car and walking. Nila was an excellent guide and we had a great day with her! She gave us tons of information and adjusted the plan due to weather so we could still see all the sites. We did this tour on our first day and got a fantastic overview of the city and so we could plan our following days. I highly recommend this tour and tour company! Very professional and quick to respond.

Our Argotour guide and driver (both Alex for short!) took wonderful care of my teen son and me on our first-ever trip to Kiev. We learned so much in our day! We started out with a pre-arranged itinerary at the memorial to Babi Yar and the WWII Museum but we were so pleased with our experience that we asked to extend. We were thrilled when they had time the same day to take us to the fascinating open-air history museum. Alex’s English is practically perfect and almost without accent (she speaks a host of other languages, too, which doesn’t surprise me) and she elaborates her tour with wonderful, detailed stories from history and folklore, a wealth of knowledge on literature, and culture, and even stories from her own family (quite poignant as we toured the memorial spaces!) Very quickly it felt like we were spending the a day with a good friend–she was curious to know what WE wanted to know, which is the best quality in a tour guide. (She was also good at letting us follow our interests spontaneously while still keeping us on a good schedule, which was equally important!) Before arriving in Kyiv I questioned whether I wanted to have a guide, since we tend to chafe on set tours, but as we speak neither Ukranian or Russian, so much of the richness at all three sites would have been lost for us without Alex’s thoughtful presentation and translation of original documents. We were really wishing we had had her the day before at the Chernobyl Museum: the English audio tour is good, but we knew we were missing another level of information. (Another tip: at the open-air museum, we were glad to have the car – we like to walk, but when they say it’s a huge place, it’s a HUGE place! Much nicer to walk in each zone but to have sweet, polite Alex drive the hills and leap out to open my door at each and every stop!) We expect to go back to Kyiv-there’s so much to see and do!-and when we do, we will be calling Argotour in hopes of working with them again!

Awesome Knowledge Provided!
I booked the 6 hour tour, 3 hours with car and 3 hours on foot. I knew I would not last the entire 6 hours, as I am a bit older, and have severe neuropathy in both feet. But my guide, the wonderful Elena, was both understanding and accommodating. She was a fantastic guide, full of knowledge and experience. I got to see many new things, and learn much more about places I had visited on my first trip to Kiev, 2 years ago. Whether you are new to Kiev, or coming back for another visit, I highly recommend this tour if you wish to learn about Kiev!

Informative, professional, and personable
Natalia did a beautiful job, and as I say in the headline, she’s friendly, professional, and shares interesting information about the city effectively. She checks in with the people she is guiding to ensure what she is telling and showing them is of interest.
I had a great time with the metro and cemetery tour. Zoloti Vorota was a very well-chosen starting point. It was very interesting to hear about the history of the metro and see pictures of what some of the stations used to look like.
In the cemetery, you get an introduction to the wide range of Ukraine’s contributions to science and culture, and see the human side of eminent scientists, actors, doctors, singers, directors, and philosophers. The variety of grave monuments is also interesting to look at from an aesthetic perspective.

Excellent guide!
I booked the 6 hour tour with 3 hours in a car and 3 hours on foot for one person. The tour exceeded my expectations and I can highly recommend it. The price is very reasonable for what you get. My guide Taya was knowledgable, frank and entertaining. Her English was good. She was willing to adapt the tour to my preferences, which included a visit to a supermarket to get an impression of daily life.

Perfect tour for a short stay!
This tour was really a wonderful experience to see Kyiv for a short stay and my private guide made the whole thing such a memorable experience of the city within the limited time. She also helped me with a little bit of shopping and also look out for restaurants which of course is not included in the tour but was very helpful.

Great way to learn about Kiev!
Booked the private tour. Guide and driver waiting for me in my Kiev hotel reception as promised at 10.00AM. Started with 3 hour trip by car around the city to see key sites (this was perfect on a Saturday morning with little traffic..so got to see more locations).
Then on lunch and then on foot for rest of tour including a metro ride and then final walk back to hotel. Taya was a super guide, both personable and extremely knowledgable of the history and culture of her city. I would highly recommend this tour and Taya in particularly. Kiev is a surprising and beautiful city.

A great day of sightseeing
When booking we opted for the 3 hours walking and 3 hours car, I think this was a good balance. I though doing this tour was a great way to fit in everything we wanted to see. Our guide met us at our hotel and was so informative! The tour was mainly run by us, if we wanted a restaurant lunch we could or just a quick bite it was great we had the option. We also wanted to see the deepest underground which wasn’t part of the tour, but our guide said no problem and fit it into our schedule. I would recommend this tour to anyone!!

Thorough tour of the historic area taking into account the sites we had already visied or we planed to do on our own. She helped us get tickets for the Swan Lake ballet which was fabulous with 3rd row seats.

I feel so thankful and happy to had the opportunity to meet Taya.
First, as a French native speaker, I was really impressed to see how much she masters my langage. It allowed her to give me the more details possible about everything we were seing : statues, architectures, monuments, fountains.
She understood my concerns and guided the visit so that I would always be interested.
I have learnt a lot about the history and at the same time, Taya was here to make myself more confident in the city at the beginning of my 2 weeks trip.
She is not only a ideal guide for your trip, this is also the ideal person for having interesting discussions : she will never take sides, but she will rather give keys to a better understanding of her culture, and of the story of her country.

Amazing Perspective on Kiev!
My guide was fantastic- she is knowledgeable and insightful on all things Kiev and Ukrainian history, and I am extremely lucky Argotour was so accommodating to allow me to do the excursion on short notice. The private tour was a great snapshot of the city and I had a great time learning more about Ukrainian culture and the history of Kiev. Slava is a wonderful guide who tailored the tour to my interests, and I would highly recommend her to interested individuals or small groups for her expertise. The highlight for me was the monastery caves but the whole tour was enjoyable.

I chose to do this “Highlights of Kiev Sightseeing Tour” on April 11 because I wanted to discover the city of Kiev and its main monuments by walking and using local public transport. As agreed, my guide Taya picked me up at my hotel and we walked the city all day.
Taya is a well of knowledge about the history of his country and the main monuments of several centuries back to the present day.
He is a friendly, intelligent person with whom we were able to discuss all topics and who, moreover, speaks excellent French. Thanks again for all your knowledge, Taya, which allowed me to learn so much about Ukraine. I highly recommend this tour and its guide.

Incredible experience!
We had a very brief stop in Kiev on May 17, so I thought a private sightseeing tour would be the best way to maximize our time. I am so glad that I found this tour because it was incredible, and I would definitely recommend this tour company to anyone looking for a tour. They communicated with me well in advance of the tour, and I also felt that the itinerary was very detailed and comprehensive. I hate when you get a vague description of a tour and then you miss seeing something that you really wanted to see. That is not the case with this company. Our tour guide spoke perfect English, and she was very knowledgeable and engaging. She did not just walk around pointing and telling a bunch of facts and dates. It felt like she was telling us a story, which made it much more interesting and fun. She answered all of our questions, kept the pace at our level and made us become long time fans of Kiev and the Ukraine! What a special day; what a special city; what special people. I love Kiev, and I highly recommend that you take this tour!

Slava is the BEST
This is amazing tour. First of all known that Kiev lies on hills, the first 4 hours of the tour is by car. We stop in every landmark. Slava explained us every detail. She is amazing, she has a deep knowledge about of the country. We learned a lot detail about this beautiful country. She loves Ukraine and we think that it should be the first thing a guide has to own. Thank Slava for that wonderful day

I did this tour with Slava, a very professional nice and good English speaking guide. Organization was perfect. I can recommend Argotour. In Kiev is so much to see, 6 hours is not enough. Better would have been a full day.

Fantastic Day in Charming Kiev!
We spent 3 days in Ukraine, and due to limited time, had only one full day to explore as much of Kiev as possible. We booked the 6hr private tour with 3hrs in car, and 3hrs walking. This turned out to be the best decision we made for the use of our time. We had such a knowledgeable, friendly, and fun guide, Slava. She was the absolute highlight of our day. She planned a perfect itinerary, and had interesting hidden bits of history to share regarding architecture, or other historical items. Note that there is quite a bit of walking toward the end, but we didn’t mind as we had fantastic weather. Kiev has had a difficult past, and it helped to truly experience, and understand from a local person’s perspective. We were surprised just how charming we found Kiev to be.

As a personal note, my spouse and I are a same-sex couple, and at no point did we ever feel uncomfortable. In fact, I just can’t say enough about our guide, Slava. She was just the best, truly exceeded our expectations. Thank you!

For somebody who left Kyiv 26 years ago and had very little memory of the city, this tour felt very informative, personalised and created lasting memories and understanding of the history of my homeland.
My tour guide Miroslava was very relatable, had lot of warmth and was happy to answer any questions in a way that made you feel comfortable to ask more. I was genuinely sad to say “goodbye”.

Guide is the best!
We loved our tour! We were there during extreme cold and lots of snow. Our driver was safe and we felt comfortable. We saw everything despite the weather and our guide, Myroslava, was very careful to check in and make sure it was a good experience despite the weather. I highly recommend this tour to get a good overview of Kyiv

Worth every penny!
Decided on this tour because I was by myself and it looked very interesting! I made the right choice! The tour had so much to offer! From churches to government buildings to facts and stories of Ukrainian independence among so many other things! My tour guide Taya was very friendly, knowledgeable, and answered every question I had with extra explanations when I saw anything that was random! Would very much recommend her! Our driver made sure we we close to the destinations and safe getting in and out of the vehicle! This tour is wonderful and very much worth it! If visiting Kyiv for the first time don’t hesitate because it’s worth it!

Our Guide made the whole experience one we won’t forget. Her knowledge of everything to do with Kiev and it’s long history was amazing and bright it all to life. The guide books for Kiev are all pretty much out of date so it was great to have someone who could bring every detail up to date.

We got to see the most beautiful sights in Kiev. Due to traffic problems, we were late arriving from the airport but, still, the tour guide Elena and the driver were quite efficient and we managed to see almost everything in a very short time. Manager from Argotour was good at communicating and working with us to reorganize things at the last minute.
